Kevin Henderson
Auburn, G, 6-4, Sr.
Auburn coach Ryan Hansen calls Henderson the best player he's ever coached. Henderson, who will play for Montana next season, averages 22 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two assists. He made a clutch three-pointer with 2.5 seconds left to beat Kentridge this season.
Mitch Brewe
Seattle Prep, F, 6-8, Jr.
Seattle Prep opponents have tried everything to stop Brewe this season. No one has been able to completely shut down the big junior. Brewe has not scored fewer than 14 points in a game, and averages 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers, ranked sixth in 3A.
Tony Wroten Jr.
Garfield, G, 6-5, Sr.
After missing his junior season with a torn ACL suffered playing football, Wroten has been on a mission. The Washington-bound senior scored 29 in a winner-to-Tacoma matchup against Kentwood last week and heads into the quarterfinals averaging 25 points, eight rebounds, six assists and 2.5 steals for the state's top-ranked 4A team.
Brett Kingma
Jackson, G, 6-2, Sr.
Kingma averages more than 30 points for the third-ranked Timberwolves, and is only 44 behind Snohomish product Jon Brockman on the all-time WesCo scoring list with 1,981. The Oregon signee would have broken the record already, but an injury limited him to nine games as a sophomore. He averaged 19.2 points that season before being hurt.
Gary Bell
Kentridge, G, 6-2, Sr.
Bell set a district-tournament scoring record with 47 points in a loser-out win over Bellarmine Prep to keep Kentridge's season alive. He then scored 31 and 27 in back-to-back playoff games to get the eighth-ranked Chargers to the quarterfinals. The Gonzaga-bound senior averages 28.5 points, eight rebounds and 3.2 assists.
Al Hairston
O'Dea coach
Hairston's credentials are impeccable. After winning five state titles in a 12-year span at Garfield from 1980-91, he returned to the high-school sideline this season at O'Dea, where he is continuing the winning tradition established by the late Phil Lumpkin. The top-ranked Irish head to the Tacoma Dome with a 23-3 record.
Mason Kelley
Talia Walton
Federal Way, C/F, 6-1, Sr.
Walton, who has signed with UW, is a matchup nightmare with her ability to post up or pop out and hit the three-pointer. She is a double-double threat in every game, and a great defender. Walton battled back from a knee injury in February to help make the Eagles title contenders.
Erika Johnson
Holy Names, G/W, 6-1, Sr.
One of the most athletic players in the state, the Cal signee is a key reason the Cougars are unbeaten and favored to win the 3A title after finishing second last year. She averages 12 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks.
Aminah Williams
Kennedy Catholic,
G/F, 6-0, Sr.
A smooth player on both ends of the court, Williams averages 19.5 points and 13 rebounds and is known for her nose for the basketball. The UW signee helped the Lancers to the 2009 3A state championship. The four-year starter is seeking a fourth state trophy.
Kari Luttinen
Seattle Prep, G, 5-10, Sr.
The lone starter back from the team that placed fourth in 3A last season, Luttinen averaged nearly 20 points (scoring 40 in one game) to lead the Panthers back to the playoffs and filled up stat sheets in other ways, too. She's headed to the University of Portland to play basketball.
Kat Cooper
Auburn Riverside,
W, 6-0, Sr.
Cooper was on two state-title teams for the Ravens (3A in 2008 and 4A in 2010) and was a key player on their playoff team this season. The Boston College commit scored more than 1,350 points over four years, averaging 19.0 this season.
Stephenie
Wheeler-Smith
Cleveland coach
When Wheeler-Smith took over as head coach in 2008-09, the Eagles hadn't had a winning season in five years. They shocked many with their run to the 2010 3A state championship, and qualified for the playoffs again this season.
