Jacob West breaks Sammamish record / Boys Basketball roundup

Jacob West of Sammamish scored 35 points, including a school-record 11 three-pointers, in the Totems' 89-64 boys basketball win over Lake Washington Tuesday night.

The 6-foot, 235-pound junior forward came in averaging only seven points per game with a season high of 15. But he scored 14 points in the first quarter as Sammamish raced to a 30-14 lead. West made seven three-pointers in first half.

Lake Washington came into the KingCo 3A/2A game ranked seventh in Class 3A.

Other highlights

Kevin Henderson scored 27 and Iszia Johnson 15 as Auburn, ranked sixth in 4A, got past Mount Rainier 68-62 in the SPSL 4A North.

• Curtis beat Federal Way 55-39 in a matchup of top-10 SPSL 4A South teams. DaVonte Lacy scored 22 for the second-ranked Vikings. Jerry Duckworth's 19 led the No. 8 Eagles.

• Jackson scored 32 points in the first quarter of a 98-68 win over Cascade in the WesCo 4A South. Brett Kingma got 12 of his 32 points in the first quarter and made six three-pointers for the fifth-ranked Timberwolves.

Tony Wroten had 22 points before leaving with an injured ankle as top-ranked Garfield beat Woodinville 69-61 in KingCo 4A despite 27 points by the Falcons' Joseph Reavley.

• Franklin beat Eastside Catholic 74-64 as 6-4 junior guard Anrio Adams had 30 points and eight rebounds in his season debut for the Quakers, ranked third in Class 3A.

Mitch Brewe scored 29 in Seattle Prep's 82-55 Metro victory over Bainbridge.

Keon Lewis scored 29 in Chief Sealth's 96-36 rout of Ingraham.
