Class 4A
Ben Goodwin, Ferris football: Goodwin, a junior, completed 14 of 25 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns as the Saxons beat Skyline 24-16 for the state championship. He also rushed 15 times for 33 yards.
Taylor Peacocke, Inglemoor basketball: Peacocke, a junior, had double-doubles in three games, averaging 19.5 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.7 steals as her team went 3-1.
Class 3A
Jacob Kaler, Camas basketball: Kaler, a senior, scored 42 points in an 89-69 win at Skyview. He dropped 33 points in the first half and finished with five three-pointers while hitting 13 of 15 free throws.
Mokun Fajemisin, Lynnwood basketball: Fajemisin, a junior, totaled 37 points and 19 rebounds in victories over Jackson and Mountlake Terrace.
Class 2A
Jacoby Howe, Wapato basketball: Howe, a senior, had 40 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals in the Wolves' 81-79 victory over Zillah.
McKayla Bradshaw, R.A. Long basketball: Bradshaw, a junior, hit a pair of three-pointers and had a team-high 15 points in a season-opening win over Fort Vancouver.
Class 1A
Joshua Schreffler, Cascade Christian football: Schreffler had five receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns as the Cougars beat Connell 42-35 for the state title.
Rachel Staudacher, Cedar Park Christian (Bothell) basketball: Staudacher, a junior, had 18 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds in a 52-35 win over Sultan.

Class 2B
Shaquille Acrey, South Bend football: Acrey, a senior, rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns as the Indians beat Colfax 28-8 for their first state football title.
Chandler Smith, Brewster basketball: The Bears freshman scored 28 points in a victory over Rainier, 42-37.
Class 1B
Tyler Edwards, Cusick football: The Blackhawks senior passed for 312 yards and a touchdown and ran for two scores in a 55-30 win over Cusick for the eight-man state title. He also intercepted a pass.
Samantha Brewer, Klickitat basketball: Brewer, a senior, scored 25 points in consecutive games to help the Vandals win a tournament in Dufur, Ore.
State Athletes of the Week are selected by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association and The Seattle Times from nominations by athletic directors.
