State Athletes of the Week, selected from nominations by athletic directors, for the week of Oct. 3-9.

Class 4A
TJ Esekielu, Beamer football: Esekielu, a senior quarterback, had 477 total yards in a 40-35 loss to Federal Way. He rushed for 392 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 85 yards and two scores.
Rachel Roeder, Issaquah volleyball: Roeder, a senior, had 29 kills, nine aces and three blocks against Woodinville, and 24 kills and 10 digs against Skyline.
Class 3A
Glenn Paden, Shorecrest football: Paden, a senior, carried 25 times for 282 yards in a 55-26 victory over Lynnwood. He ran for five touchdowns and kicked seven extra points.
Dana Michaels, Juanita volleyball: Michaels, a junior, had 11 kills against Sammamish and 37 kills against Mercer Island.
Class 2A
Aaron Rodriguez, Foster football: The Bulldogs senior completed 18 of 24 passes for 322 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-20 win over Evergreen of White Center.
Natilee Ruiz, Othello swimming: Ruiz, a junior, swam state-qualifying times in the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 13.48 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:11.33).
Class 1A
Keegan McCormick, Tonasket football: McCormick, a senior, had four TDs and 308 yards on a school-record 47 carries against Cascade of Leavenworth. At linebacker, he had three solo tackles and three assists.
Caitlin Long, Highland soccer: The Scotties sophomore had seven goals and two assists in three games.

Class 2B
Chad Mathews, Oroville football: Mathews, a junior, scored five first-half TDs — one rushing, three receiving, one on a 62-yard interception return — in a 56-13 win over Bridgeport.
Olivia Sparks, Mount Vernon Christian soccer: The senior goalkeeper notched 20 saves against Friday Harbor.
Class 1B
Andrew Moisant, Providence Classical Christian soccer: Moisant, a junior, had a pair of hat tricks and totaled eight goals and four assists in three games.
Nikki Osborne, Almira/Coulee-Hartline volleyball: Osborne, a senior, had 16 kills, 16 digs, four aces and two blocks in a match against Davenport.
