2010 Star Times: Boys basketball
The 32nd annual Seattle Times all-area boys basketball team
Gary Bell
Kentridge guard, 6-1, Jr.
Considered among the top junior guards in the country, Bell averaged 22.6 points — with an SPSL-record 55 in one game — while shooting 40 percent from three-point range. The two-time Star Times choice led Kentridge to third place at last year's state tournament. Has several D-1 offers.
Aaron Bright
Bellevue point guard, 5-11, Sr.
The two-time Star Times selection has played with the poise and consistency expected from a Stanford-bound point guard. He led the Wolverines to their second straight KingCo 3A/2A regular-season and tournament titles and was named league MVP for the second year in a row. He averages 21 points, four assists and two steals for third-ranked Bellevue.
Joshua Smith
Kentwood center, 6-9, Sr.
Since returning from an early season injury that cost him 10 games, Smith has been a force for the Conquerors, averaging more than 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. A repeat Star Times selection and the No. 1-ranked center in the country, the UCLA recruit was recently named a McDonald's All-American.
Cole Dickerson
Federal Way forward, 6-6, Sr.
The clear MVP choice in the SPSL 4A North, Dickerson averages 24 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks for the top-ranked Eagles, who are favored to win a second straight state title. He shoots better than 60 percent from the field and has signed with San Francisco. Older brother Michael played in the NBA.

Brett Kingma
Jackson guard, 6-2, Jr.
Kingma missed most of his sophomore season with a broken left arm. He has more than made up for lost time this season, establishing himself as one of the state's top scorers. The slick-shooting guard has dropped in more than 30 points nine times, averaging more than 25 points for the sixth-ranked Timberwolves.
Colin Slingsby
Chief Sealth coach
Slingsby led the Seahawks to a 12-3 record in a competitive Metro League despite playing in a temporary gym. Ranked eighth in Class 3A, Sealth (14-9) made its first appearance in the Metro championship game since 2001.
