Kentlake wrestler Jeff Harjehausen, Redmond basketball player Chandler Jones and the Everett wrestling team are Stars of the Week for Feb. 1-6.

Harjehausen, a junior, went into the SPSL 4A North sub-regional as the No. 12 seed at 112 pounds, but won the championship. He pinned the No. 1 seed in the semifinals, then edged the No. 2 seed, his teammate, in the championship match, 6-5.

Chandler Jones

Redmond basketball

Jones, a senior guard, connected on eight three-pointers and scored a season-high 33 points in a victory over Ballard. She also poured in 25 points to help the Mustangs beat Garfield, raising her season average to 18.7 points per game.

Everett wrestling team

The Seagulls, coached by Brien Elliott, won a 3A sub-regional tournament over powerhouse Sedro-Woolley, 272 points to 248½. It is apparently Everett’s first wrestling victory over the Cubs, at least in Elliott’s 18 years as Seagulls coach.
