Class 4A
Matt Spears, Skyview football: Spears, a senior, had 33 carries for 182 yards and four touchdowns against Bethel in the Storm's 40-21 victory.
Andie Taylor, Skyline swimming: Taylor, a senior, was crowned state champion in the 200 freestyle (1:46.55) and the 500 freestyle (4:45.47). Her 200 time was a state record, and the 500 time was the second-fastest time ever by a Washington swimmer. Taylor also anchored two state-championship relays to help the Spartans to their first team title.
Class 3A
Trey Wheeler, Liberty (Issaquah) football: Wheeler, a junior, was 18-of-27 passing for 296 yards and three touchdowns. He had no interceptions and completed a two-point conversion in the 38-35 win over O'Dea.
Summer Nash, Bishop Blanchet volleyball: Nash, a senior, had 94 kills for the Braves in their state-title run. She was named MVP of the 3A tournament.
Class 2A
Kramer Ferrell, Ellensburg football: Ferrell, a junior, had 10 receptions for 241 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-35 win over Clarkston. Ferrell had five tackles on defense.
Katie Kaestner, Anacortes swimming: Kaestner, a sophomore, won the 100 free (53.41) and 100 breast (106.27) and helped two relay teams to third- and fourth-place finishes at the state championships last weekend. She set a state record in the 100 breast with an All-American consideration time.
Class 1A
Tyler Perry, Nooksack Valley football: Perry, a junior, was 23-of-35 passing for 329 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown in a 49-21 first-round state playoff win over LaCenter.
Anna Cesari, King's volleyball: Cesari, a senior, led the Knights to their second consecutive 1A state volleyball championship last weekend. In victories against Lakeside, Lynden Christian and Cascade, she racked up 99 assists, 27 digs, five aces and seven kills. In the finals against Chelan, Cesari recorded 45 assists, nine digs, three aces and six kills.

Class 2B
Terrell Boyes, South Bend football: Boyes, a junior, had four receptions for 179 yards and three touchdowns. He also had an 80-yard interception return for a touchdown and a two-point conversion. He totaled 26 points.
Julie Hulbert, La Conner volleyball: Hulbert, a senior, accumulated 63 kills, 54 digs and 12 blocks at the state championships last weekend against Northwest Christian (Lacey), Colfax, Adna and Kittitas. Her team finished fourth in the tournament.
Class 1B
Curtis Steinhauer, Lake Quinault football: Steinhauer, a senior, rushed for 129 yards, 112 in the second half, and four touchdowns in a 62-29 win over Crescent.
Maylisa Chung, North Sound Christian volleyball: Chung, a junior, had 23 aces, 117 assists, 110 digs and 10 blocks in four-state championship matches last weekend, helping her team to an eighth-place finish.
The WIAA/Seattle Times State Athletes of the Week are selected by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association and The Seattle Times from nominations by athletic directors.
