Gellatly, a senior running back, is back to form after an injury-riddled season. He carried the ball 23 times for 150 yards and scored five touchdowns as the Eagles advanced to the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs with a 42-10 win over Kentwood.
Anna Dailey
Garfield cross country
Dailey, a senior, won the Class 4A state championship, running 3.1 miles in 17 minutes, 58 seconds. It was the fastest time of the day for all girls classifications and a distinct improvement over last season, when she placed 54th with a time of 19:49.
Eastlake girls cross country team
The Wolves, coached by Troy Anderson, won the Class 4A state championship with 100 points — 24 ahead of second-place Tahoma. Chelsea Orr finished 15th overall to lead the way and was followed by Katelyn Steen (17th), Morgan O'Connor (26th), Erin Blodnick (50th) and Alie Dorsey (54th).
