RENTON — Freshman quarterback Matt Stuart threw five touchdown passes and Lindbergh of Renton rolled to a 44-6 win over Bainbridge in a preliminary-round 3A football game at Renton Stadium.
Stuart was 7 of 18 for 217 yards, with scoring passes of 55, 8, 33, 76 and 40 yards.
Bainbridge scored on its first possession but the Lindbergh defense held the Spartans (5-5) of the Metro League scoreless the rest of the way.
Bainbridge had 59 carries but for just 41 yards.
Frank Cange caught four passes for 172 yards and three touchdowns for Lindbergh (9-1), which plays in the Seamount League.
