Issaquah slipped past Mercer Island 10-9 Saturday night at Memorial Stadium for its second consecutive Division I boys lacrosse state championship.
Mercer Island, making its eighth trip to the final in the past nine years, handed Issaquah its only league defeat earlier this season, 6-4.
Issaquah took its league's most prolific offense into the title game, and needed every goal to slip past the Islanders. Jordan Goldstein and Jake Fritz each had four goals and Jake Director had two for the champs.
The matchup of state powers featured 11 all-state players.
Overlake stops
Eastside Catholic
In the Division II final, Overlake of Redmond beat Eastside Catholic 17-11 with Devon Schmidt scoring six goals.
Sky Tweedie-Yates added three goals and five assists for Overlake, which made its first appearance in a state-title game after 20 years in the sport.
David Carlton had seven goals for Eastside Catholic, which began playing lacrosse only three years ago.
