Prep Basketball Roundup | Kentwood girls knock off nation's top team
Sophomore guard Kylie Huerta sank four free throws in the final 20 seconds as Kentwood beat the nation's top-ranked girls basketball team, St. Mary's of Stockton, Calif., 74-67.

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Sophomore guard Kylie Huerta sank four free throws in the final 20 seconds as Kentwood beat the nation's top-ranked girls basketball team, St. Mary's of Stockton, Calif., 74-67 Saturday night in the championship game of the Nike Northwest Invitational.
Kentwood led by 19 before St. Mary's rallied behind Chelsea Gray's five three-pointers. Gray scored 32 points.
St. Mary's is ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today and ESPN.
"It was a great game to watch. A lot of fun for us," said Kentwood coach Keith Hennig.
Tournament MVP Lindsey Moore scored 18 points and Courtney Johnson had 16 for the Conquerors. Teammate Jessie Genger joined Moore on the all-tournament team.

Inglemoor 43, at Bellevue 41
Bryn Hamel had 17 rebounds and Alex Nelson and Lynsey Sandum combined for 23 points as the Vikings beat the Wolverines in the championship game of the Les Schwab Tipoff Classic. Bellevue stayed close by hitting 8 of 19 three-point shots.
Lindbergh 48, Gig Harbor 45
Marcissa McMillan's 22 points and 27 rebounds powered the Eagles to third place in the Les Schwab Tipoff Classic.
Meadowdale 55, at Skyline 53
The Mavericks, ranked seventh in 3A, rallied from a 35-24 halftime deficit and overcame Lindsey Perry's 21 points for Skyline. The Spartans lost the ball in a scramble at the buzzer on their last possession. Hanna Fjortoft scored 14 and Anna Molitor had 13 points and four blocks for Meadowdale.

At Bellevue 58, Renton 57
Bellevue held off a fourth-quarter comeback by Renton for the championship of the Les Schwab Tipoff Classic. The Wolverines, ranked third in Class 3A, survived 25 points by Joseph Holifield of the Indians. Renton missed a driving shot just before the final buzzer. Colton Christian had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Aaron Bright scored 15 for Bellevue.
Bellevue Christian 71, Newport 51
David Downs hit 6 of 11 three-point shots and scored 35 points to lead the 1A Vikings to third place in the Les Schwab Tipoff Classic. BC trailed by 14 after one quarter and 11 at halftime, but outscored Newport 44-13 in the second half. Bellevue Christian has two state titles, a third-place finish and a fourth-place trophy the past four years.
At King's 55, Brewster 53
Kyle Talbot scored on an inbounds play with 2.6 seconds left as the Knights won a matchup of Class 1A powers. Ryan Hoff hit seven three-pointers for all of his 21 points for King's.
