GIG HARBOR — Sean Snead rushed for five touchdowns and 191 yards as streaking Mount Si upset 10th-ranked Peninsula (7-3) 33-9 in a preliminary round state playoff game Saturday night.
Quarterback Tyson Riley rushed for 74 yards on seven carries and passed for 103 on a Peninsula defense that had recorded three shutouts this season.
Mount Si (6-4) has won five of its last six games to reach the first round of the state playoffs, where it will face Eastside Catholic (9-1) next week.
Snead scored on runs of 4, 34, 6, 3 and 13 yards and has 1,563 yards on the season.
Other Class 4A
At Skyline 30, Graham-Kapowsin 7
Jake Heaps threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns, both to Gino Simone, as the top-ranked Spartans advanced to the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs with the win.
Heaps was 18 of 26 passing and added one rushing touchdown. His two passing TDs increased his season total to 26.
The Spartans (9-0) will play Federal Way (8-2) next week in the state playoffs. The Eagles finished their season 7-4.
The Skyline defense, which has now given up just 33 points this season, got the Spartans going when Tait Stephens returned a fumble for 12 yards in the second quarter to give Skyline a 14-0 halftime lead.
At Woodinville 31, Heritage 0

At Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell, the No. 10 Falcons defense picked up its second consecutive shutout and forced six turnovers in the preliminary round Class 4A state playoff win. Trevor Kelley and Joey Allison each had two interceptions to lead the defense, which shutout Issaquah 21-0 last week. Nick Campbell had nine solo tackles for the Falcons (9-1), who play Auburn (10-0) next week in the first round of the state playoffs.
Heritage (5-5) managed just 162 yards in total offense.
At Olympia 42, Eastlake 21
At Ingersoll Stadium, the No. 2 Bears (10-0) advanced to the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs with the convincing win and will face Central Kitsap (7-3) next week. The Wolves, who had won three straight to reach the preliminary round, finish the season at 6-4.
Central Kitsap 49, at Snohomish 13
Central Kitsap (7-3) of Silverdale advanced to the round-of-16 state playoffs with the win and will face Olympia in the first round. Snohomish finishes 6-4 after starting the season 1-2.
Class 3A
At Capital 7, Bishop Blanchet 0
At Ingersoll Stadium in Olympia, Riley Wall scored the game's only touchdown on a 7-yard run in the third quarter to lead the Cougars (7-3) to the preliminary round state playoff win. Wall finished with 152 yards rushing on 29 carries to end the Braves' season at 5-5. Capital faces Meadowdale next week.
At Bellevue 48, Sedro-Woolley 10
The top-ranked Wolverines (10-0) jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead behind a pair of Eric Nelson TD runs and advanced to the first round of the state playoffs. Bellevue used 11 different ball carriers and finished with 342 yards rushing and seven TDs. The Cubs finished at 6-5. Bellevue will face Lindbergh next week.
Kennedy 35, Camas 23
At Highline Stadium, The No. 6 Lancers built a 28-3 halftime lead behind three TDs from Tre Watson and then fought off a second-half rally from the Papermakers in the preliminary Class 3A state playoff game.
Watson, the area's leading rusher coming into the game, rushed for 148 yards on 23 carries and two TDs and has 1,703 yards for the season. He also had a 69-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Nolan Washington had 184 yards rushing and two TDs for the Lancers (9-1), who play Liberty (8-2) of Issaquah next week in the first round of the playoffs.
The Papermakers (6-4) rallied in the second half, scoring 20 unanswered points but couldn't finish. Quinton Beasley rushed 23 times for 246 yds and two TDs.
At Ferndale 56, Bonney Lake 6
The second-ranked Golden Eagles (10-0) advanced to the first round of the Class 3A state playoffs with the win over the Panthers (5-5). Ferndale plays West Seattle (9-1) in the first round next week.
Meadowdale 47, Nathan Hale 17
At Edmonds Stadium, big plays were the story for the Mavericks, who built a 27-3 halftime lead and then cruised to the win in the preliminary round of the Class 3A state playoffs.
Meadowdale (6-3) scored five of its touchdowns on plays of 34 yards or more. Naji Moore-Taylor had a 92-yard TD run and Matt McDonagh hooked up with Connor Hamlett for a 53-yard TD pass in the first half.
Taylor added a 34-yard TD run and McDonagh had a 34-yard TD pass to Cameron Bayer in the third quarter. The Mavericks play Capital (7-3) next week in the first round of the playoffs. Jordan Sullivan threw for 189 yards and one TD for the Raiders (4-6).
