WesCo | Herrick carries Everett past Cascade
Quarterback Chase Herrick ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as Everett beat Cascade 28-8 Friday night in a nonleague game between WesCo teams at Everett Memorial Stadium.

EVERETT — Najii Moore-Taylor didn't waste time showing he's back for Meadowdale.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound junior ran for three touchdowns as the Mavericks overcame an early deficit to beat Kamiak 28-7 in a nonleague game between WesCo teams at Goddard Stadium.
Moore-Taylor, who was suspended for the first three weeks for violating the athletic code last year, finished with 150 yards on 25 carries. He scored on runs of 63, 1 and 1 yard.
The 63-yard run midway through the fourth quarter broke open a close game and gave Meadowdale of Lynnwood (2-1) a 20-7 lead.
Kamiak (3-1) struck first on a 40-yard touchdown pass late in the first quarter.

Lake Stevens 45, at Arlington 23
Nick Baker passed for three touchdowns, two to Trevor Riecks, and Duke Dolphin also scored twice for the ninth-ranked Vikings (4-0, 2-0) overcame a 14-0 deficit in WesCo North. Lake Stevens led by two TDs after a 45-yard fumble return by Alex Marshman. But Lake Stevens scored 28 straight points to lead 35-17 at halftime. Riecks and Baker connected on TD passes of 46 and 14 yards. Brandon Preslar had a 43-yard interception return for Lake Stevens.
Marysville-Pilchuck 42, at Stanwood 14
Austin Denton ran for 110 yards and three touchdowns to carry the unbeaten Tomahawks (4-0, 2-0) past the Spartans (0-3, 0-2) in WesCo North. Denton, a 5-10, 200-pound junior, had 20 carries. Vini Talataina had a 65-yard fumble return for M-P. Devon Hochstetler ran for 102 yards for Stanwood, which had two TDs by Ryan Schroyer scored.
At Snohomish 35, Monroe 28
Cameron Woolsey ran for three touchdowns and intercepted two passes as the Panthers (2-2, 1-1) beat the Bearcats (2-2, 0-2) in WesCo North. Woolsey finished with 108 yards on 11 carries. Ray Purviance ran for 176 yards, including a 92-yard touchdown for Snohomish. Monroe made it close two fourth-quarter TDs.

Everett 28, Cascade 8
Chase Herrick ran for two scores and passed for another as the Seagulls (3-1) toppled Cascade (2-2) in a nonleague WesCo game. The 5-10, 160-pound junior broke a scoreless tie with 6:25 left in the second quarter with a 29-yard TD run along the sideline. The Seagulls' quarterback's also hit Jake Frauenholtz for a 24-yard score at the end of the first half with a desperation throw. Herrick added a 1-yard TD run in the third quarter.
Mariner 49, Lynnwood 0
At Edmonds Stadium, Adrien Black ran for three first-half touchdowns and AJ VanWieringen passed to Tevin Dillon for two more as the Mauraders (3-1) rolled past the Royals (0-4). Black, a senior, finished with 110 yards on only eight carries, including TD runs of 57 and 12 yards in the first quarter, and 4 in the second.
Glacier Peak 35, Mountlake Terrace 7
At Edmonds Stadium, Zach Richter passed for three touchdowns as the Grizzlies (1-3) earned the first-year school's first victory in a nonleague game. Richter completed TD tosses to Luke Westberg, Jack Bonner and Tommy Rollins in the first half as Glacier Peak took a 21-7 lead.
Shorecrest 21, Shorewood 14
At Shoreline Stadium, Michael Harris' 60-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was the difference as the Scots (2-2) kept the Thunderbirds (0-4) winless in a nonleague game between Shoreline rivals. Harris, a 175-pound junior, finished with 150 yards on 18 carries.
At Oak Harbor 42, Mount Vernon 32
Stephen Lewis scored fourth touchdowns and Donovan Hunt led three Wildcats (2-2) who rushed for more than 100 yards in a nonleague victory. Lewis ran for 129 yards on 17 carries, and Brad Farnum added 121 yards on 11 attempts. Hunt scored two TDs.
