WesCo | Cox carries Jackson over Stanwood
Senior running back Taylor Cox ran for 204 yards and two long second-half touchdowns as Jackson of Mill Creek beat Stanwood 32-8 Friday night in a nonleague football between WesCo opponents.
Michael Schwartz, Lakeside: Had 299 yards on 30 carries, three TDs.
Tony Heard, Edmonds-Woodway: Carried 28 times for 229 yards, three touchdowns.
Kirby Moore, Prosser: Eight receptions for 177 yards, three scores.
Erik Pollard, Emerald Ridge: Returned punt, interception each 64 yards for TDs.
Taylor Cox, Jackson: Carried 17 times for 204 yards, scored from 42, 68 yards.

EVERETT — Taylor Cox and Jackson made a season-opening statement Friday night, and WesCo opponents may not like the message.
Cox, a senior running back, ran for 204 yards on 17 carries and scored on two touchdown runs to carry Jackson of Mill Creek to a 32-8 nonleague victory over Stanwood at Everett Memorial Stadium.
The 6-foot, 195-pound Cox ran for touchdowns of 42 and 68 yards in the second half. Jackson rolled up 355 rushing yards and 461 total yards.
Junior running back Riley Carr added scoring runs of 5 and 4 yards in the second quarter as Jackson led 18-0 at halftime. Jordan Kellington's 17-yard TD pass from Andy Gay opened the scoring for Jackson. Gay finished 8 for 12 for 106 yards.

Cascade 15, at Oak Harbor 10
The Bruins' Aaron Frye ran for a touchdown and passed for another, and the sixth-ranked Wildcats lost their opening game under new head coach Jay Turner. Frye completed a 60-yard TD pass to Spencer Hancock in the first quarter and ran for a 13-yard score in the fourth. Frye ran for 97 yards and was 5-for-7 passing for 78 yards.
Lake Stevens 36, Mariner 34
At Goddard Stadium, Nick Baker led the Vikings to 33 unanswered points as they overcame a 21-0 second-quarter deficit against the Marauders. The senior quarterback passed for 191 yards and three TDs with just one interception. Bo Dickinson keyed the Lake Stevens defense with a 99-yard interception return and a 32-yard fumble return. Tevin Dillon scored four TDs for Mariner.
Lake Stevens' third-year assistant coach Kyle Bigham collapsed during the national anthem. Bingham was given CPR for about 15 minutes and taken by ambulance to an area hospital. Vikings head coach Tom Tri said Bigham suffered a "severe heart complication" but was conscious and doing much better.
At Snohomish 24, Kamiak 7
The Panthers rolled up over 300 yards rushing and led at halftime 17-3 as they pounded the Knights in a nonleague opener between two teams expected to be among the top teams in their WesCo divisions.

Lynnwood 6
Percy Anyimah scored on both long and short runs to lift the Hawks to a 29-6 win over the Royals in a nonleague game at Edmonds Stadium.
Anyimah scored from 1 yard with less than a minute left in the first half and added a 70-yard scoring sprint in the third quarter for the Hawks. Anyimah, who injured his leg on that play and did not return, finished with 121 yards on seven carries.
Lynnwood's Geoff Meinken ran for 72 yards on 13 carries.
At Arlington 37, Glacier Peak 7
Junior quarterback Jake Parduhn ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more, both to Connor Varnell, as the Eagles spoiled the first game for Snohomish's new school. Arlington intercepted three passes.
At Marysville-Pilchuck 46, Shorecrest 14
Junior running back Austin Denton ran for 208 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries as the Tomahawks beat the Scots. Denton, a 5-10, 201-pound junior, scored from 13, 56, 49 and 9 yards. M-P rolled up 422 yards on 47 carries and also intercepted three passes.
Monroe 20, Shorewood 6
At Shoreline Stadium, the Bearcats jumped out to a 20-0 lead to beat the Thunderbirds and snap a 10-game losing streak dating back 2006. Monroe's first-year head coach Dave Telford earned his first win. Shorewood senior Dorian Lair ran for 105 yards on 20 carries.
Everett 29, Bishop Blanchet 14
At Everett Memorial Stadium, senior David Andre ran for 260 yards and scored three touchdowns, including a 56-yarder in the fourth quarter, as the Seagulls won a nonleague opener. Andre carried 15 times and also had scoring runs of 65 and 1 yards. Jake Frauenholtz added a 54-yard punt return for Everett. Monte Brown caught two touchdown passes from Spencer Marquiss for Bishop Blanchet, and the Braves' Cameron Cutter had 121 rushing yards on 16 carries.
