Jeff Patrick, who won three KingCo 3A titles and made three state appearances in nine seasons at Issaquah High School, has been named head boys basketball coach at Juanita High School.
Patrick was 133-87 at Issaquah and finished second in the 2003 state tournament to Rainier Beach. He resigned after this past season citing difficulty commuting to Issaquah from his home in North Kirkland and his job as facilities manager for Target stores in a territory from North Seattle to Bellingham.
Patrick lives two minutes from Juanita High School.
Juanita lost fourth-year coach Zeke Bambolo after the Rebels' 12-10 season. Bambolo, who was 35-47 at Juanita, said he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Juanita is dropping from KingCo 4A to KingCo 3A while Issaquah is moving from 3A to 4A.
Issaquah has promoted Patrick's assistant, Jeff Altchech, to head coach. Altchech's resume includes three years as head coach at Bellevue High School.
