KENT — Karli Merlich tossed her second shutout of the day, a three-hitter, as Kennedy stopped Auburn Riverside 2-0 Saturday night in the championship game of the SPSL 3A/Seamount fastpitch softball tournament.
In the semifinals, Merlich struck 12 in a five-hitter as the Lancers edged Enumclaw 1-0 in eight innings. Lindsy Dugan, who also drove in a run in the title game, snapped a scoreless tie with an RBI double.
In 15 innings Saturday, Merlich allowed eight hits while fanning 21 with two walks.
