ISSAQUAH — Issaquah sophomore Mikenzie Voves tossed a four-hitter as the Eagles completed an unbeaten KingCo 3A regular season with a 2-0 shutout of second-place Newport.
Issaquah (16-0) is believed to be only the second KingCo 3A team to go unbeaten. Sammamish went 14-0 two years ago.
Issaquah has 12 shutout victories and has allowed only eight runs — four earned — this season.
Redmond golfers extend streak
REDMOND — Mollie Johnsen shot a 5-over par 41 at Bear Creek Country Club for medalist honors as Redmond claimed its 56th consecutive KingCo 4A girls golf victory and fifth straight league title with a victory over Woodinville.
Chelsea Smith (42) and Kara Zitzman (43) were right behind Johnsen as Redmond, last year's state team runner-up, swept the top five individual spots.
Boys soccer
• Junior forward Thomas Sheets had a goal and an assist in the first half as Snohomish (13-2-1) wrapped up the WesCo North title and clinched a state-playoff trip with a 3-1 victory over Monroe. Snohomish will face WesCo South champ Shorewood (14-1-1) in the Northwest 4A District final next Thursday at Shoreline Stadium.
