KENT — Sixteen runs weren't enough for Kentlake to clinch the South Puget Sound League North Division baseball title Tuesday.
The Falcons, ranked seventh in the state in Class 4A, were outslugged 21-16 by Kentridge, which got a career day from senior third baseman Spencer Graham.
Graham went 4 for 5 with three home runs and seven runs batted in. He hit solo homers in the first and third innings and a grand slam in the fifth.
Nick Mead added a two-run homer and Ben Mora and Matt Theisen each went 4 for 6 for the Chargers, who pounded 19 hits. The Falcons had 21 hits, led by Miles Nagel, who went 5 for 6 with four RBI.
"Nobody could get an out," said Kentlake coach Jason Evans.
Graham, in particular, punished the Falcons.
"Everything we threw up there [to Graham] ended up being a 360-foot shot," Evans said.
Kentlake (15-4 overall, 11-3) finished the regular season tied with Tahoma atop the North. They split two games this season, so a power-ranking tiebreaker formula will determine the top seed from the division in Friday's eight-team SPSL playoffs.
It was the final game for Kentridge (6-12, 5-9).
