LYNNWOOD — Kelsey Parker drove in the tiebreaking run in the bottom of the eighth inning, giving Lynnwood and pitcher Julia Nealer a 1-0, no-hit fastpitch victory over Edmonds-Woodway on Thursday.
Nealer, a junior, struck out 12 in outdueling Sydney Mahan of Edmonds-Woodway. Mahan fanned 11 and allowed seven hits.
Other fastpitch
• Everett's Cory Mattson struck out 14 in a two-hit, 2-0 shutout of Arlington. Christina Rayner fanned 12 for Arlington.
• Hillary Barker of Cedarcrest fanned 14 and walked one in a two-hit, 1-0 shutout of Archbishop Murphy. Barker (6-0) has not allowed a run this season.
Baseball
• Junior right-hander Cole Clerget struck out seven in a three-hitter and went 3 for 3 with two homers, a double and all four RBI in Shorewood's 4-0 shutout of Shorecrest. He has four home runs already this season.
Track and field
• West Seattle's Christian Crain improved on his state best in the boys long jump, going 22 feet, 5 inches in a three-way Metro League meet. His previous best was 22-0 ½.
• Julian-Blake Cowan of Auburn Riverside set a state best of 4 minutes, 25.05 in the boys 1,600 meters in a SPSL 3A dual-meet victory against Sumner. Cowan, a junior, also won the 3,200 in 9:44.21.

• Four Redmond golfers finished among the top 10 as the Mustangs won the 27-team Lee Dolquist Memorial Invitational at Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima. Mollie Johnson placed fourth at 9-over 81, Chelsea Smith (83) was sixth, Emily Guthrie (83) was seventh and Kelly O'Donnell (86) finished 10th for Redmond, which finished 30 strokes ahead of runner-up Snohomish.
Wrestling
• Derek Norton, an assistant coach for Shorewood since 2003, was promoted to head coach, replacing Arnie Moreno. It's Norton's first head-coaching position.
