Alex Barashkoff, football coach at Ballard High School the past three seasons, is resigning to spend more time with his wife and two children. Barashkoff teaches math at Ballard and has commuted from Marysville.
Last season, the Beavers were 5-3 in the KingCo 4A Conference and 5-5 overall, with a loss to Edmonds-Woodway in the preliminary state-playoff round. Ballard was 2-7 each of the previous two seasons.
Barashkoff also has been head coach at Mountlake Terrace and Ingraham and was an assistant at Stanwood and Bishop Blanchet.
Athletic director Doug Bruketta is accepting applications for a replacement.
