Murray Longbotham , Mercer Island boys swimming
Longbotham, a junior, had the best times in the 100-yard butterfly (53.40 seconds) and 500 freestyle (4:49.68) at a double dual meet, both state-qualifying times. Against Sammamish, he had state-qualifying wins in the 200 individual medley (2:01.73) and 100 breaststroke (1:03.22), and also swam on the winning 200 medley relay.
Katie Arlan , Bothell gymnastics
Arlan, a senior, took first in the all-around with a score of 36.2 as the Cougars won a four-team KingCo 4A meet. She tied for first on the floor (9.2) and vault (9.0) and placed second on the bars (8.7) and beam (9.3).
Redmond wrestling team
The Mustangs, coached by Paul Mullen, went 5-0 with victories over O'Dea, Meridian, Sultan, Shelton and Skyline to win the Skyline Duals tournament. Several Redmond wrestlers went unbeaten for the week, including Trevor Long (140 pounds) and Ty Campbell (285) at 8-0 and Cary Hooper (171) at 7-0.
