How the teams are selected: Star Times all-area teams are chosen by Seattle Times reporters, free-lancers and editors covering high-school sports. Selections must be from schools in King and Snohomish counties, or in the Metro, WesCo or SPSL 3A leagues.

Gino Simone
Skyline, WR, 6-0, 165, Jr.
KingCo 3A Offensive Player of Year blew opponents away with his quickness, leading area in receiving yards (1,418 yards on 70 catches) and touchdowns (18) for Sammamish Plateau team that finished 14-0 and won Class 3A state title.
Demitrius Bronson
Kentwood, RB, 6-1, 210, Sr.
One of state's most prolific running backs over past three seasons with 3,810 career rushing yards. Ran for more than 200 yards per game before suffering an ankle injury. Still ran for 1,450 yards this season. Headed to UW.
David DeCastro
Bellevue, OL, 6-4, 285, Sr.
The cornerstone of Bellevue's wing-T offense that ran for more than 300 yards per game this season and made it to Class 3A semifinals. Ranked among the top five centers in the country and has committed to Stanford.
Alameda Ta'amu
Rainier Beach, OL, 6-4, 340, Sr.
Two-time Star Times honoree was Metro Sound Player of Year and Lineman of Year. First-team selection on both offense, defense. One of state's top recruits has narrowed list to Washington, Arizona, Hawaii and Oregon State.
Le'Roi Edwards
Kentridge, OL, 6-4, 284, Sr.
Offensive lineman of year in South Puget Sound League 4A North Division and a two-time first-team choice on the OL and DL. Three-sport athlete (wrestling, track and field) also serves as student-body president. Repeat Star Times choice.
Tony Heard
Edmonds- Woodway, RB, 5-11, 225, Jr.
Helped lead Warriors (12-1) to the Class 4A state semifinals. Rushed for 2,236 yards and 31 touchdowns. All-WesCo South running back averaged 9.0 yards and rushed 100 yards in 12 of 13 games.
Ryan Robertson
Eastlake, QB, 6-3, 192, Sr.
KingCo 4A offensive player of the year finished with 2,864 passing yards, breaking his school record. Threw for 300 or more yards three times for team that made it to quarterfinals.
Drew Schaefer
Eastlake, OL, 6-5, 275, Sr.
Left tackle protected blindside for one of the area's highest-powered offenses. Athletic enough to play basketball for Eastlake of Sammamish. Committed to Washington.
Cory Mackay
Eastlake, WR, 6-4, 204, Sr.
Tall, athletic receiver who committed to UW on Monday finished with exactly 100 yards per game and 14 touchdowns, including four in postseason. Also an All-KingCo 4A linebacker, leading conference with 18 sacks.
Antoinne Wafer
Edmonds-Woodway, All Purpose, 5-7, 165, Sr.
All-WesCo South as wide receiver, defensive back and return specialist for 4A state semifinalist. Caught 43 passes for 841 yards, 13 touchdowns. Also made 13 interceptions and had seven return TDs.
Curtis Stensland
Newport, K, 5-7, 140, Sr.
All-KingCo 3A kicker led the area with 11 field goals, with four from 32 yards or longer and one from 44. Helped Knights from Bellevue into the state playoffs for the first time since 1997.
Johri Fogerson
O'Dea, RB, 6-2, 202, Sr.
Metro Mountain Co-Offensive Player of Year also returned kicks and played safety. Led area with 2,545 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns, with 297 yards and four TDs in 3A final loss. Averaged 11 yards per carry for Irish.
Senio Kelemete
Evergreen, OL, 6-4 ½, 255, Sr.
Key reason for Evergreen of White Center's 9-2 season. Seamount League Lineman of Year on both offense and defense. Known for his big-play capabilities on either side. Projected as a defensive end at UW.

Curtis Steensland of Newport High School in Bellevue, named to the Star Times all-area football team as a kicker, was also the All-KingCo 3A kicker. He was incorrectly listed as an All-KingCo linebacker.
