FEDERAL WAY — Demetrius Bronson ran for 249 yards and three long touchdowns as Kentwood bounced back from a narrow loss to Puyallup to beat Decatur 35-6 in a South Puget Sound League 4A football game Thursday night.
Bronson, a 5-foot-10, 200-pound senior who has committed to the University of Washington, carried 17 times and scored on runs of 35, 58 and 63 yards for the Conquerors (2-1 overall, 1-0 North Division). Kentwood lost 25-24 to No. 4 Puyallup last week.
Decatur (1-2, 0-1) was held to 129 total yards.

At French Field in Kent, Sean Harris caught touchdown passes of 71 and 51 yards from Jesse Earle as the Royals (2-1, 1-0) raced to a 28-0 lead in the first half of the SPSL North opener. Johnny Wilson and André Moore each ran for two scores for K-M. Taylor Stark threw two scoring passes to Bryant Cameron for the Raiders (0-3, 0-1).
Bethel 33, Curtis 14
At Art Crate Stadium in Spanaway, receiver Robert Akeo-Orr threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Jeff English on a trick play, igniting a string of four TDs by the Braves (3-0, 1-0) in an SPSL South opener. Akeo-Orr also caught 10 passes for 178 yards, Oliver Henry completed 18 of 28 throws for 260 yards and Jeremy Betschart made 13 tackles for Bethel. The Braves had 387 total yards, 307 in the air. Curtis (1-2, 0-1) was held to 137 total yards.
