TACOMA -- Three was nice.
But Sedro-Woolley 112-pounder Derek Crouter couldn't help but think of the number six Saturday night at the Tacoma Dome in Mat Classic.
Moments after methodically sealing the deal on his third straight individual state title, outlasting Sunnyside's Isaac Romero 2-0, Crouter compared his streak to The Streak.
The Streak, of course, was Sedro-Woolley's record sixth consecutive Class 3A state wrestling team championship.
"They're both important," said Crouter, a senior who finished his career with a 128-11 record. "But, probably, six is better ... just knowing we made history. There are quite a few three-time state champions, but to do it as a team, to make history, it's incredible."
Sedro-Woolley, which got individual titles from Crouter, Derek Garcia (125) and Michael Lomsdalen (160), held off Kelso in the team race, 154 ½-141.
The Cubs, who won their 11th state title overall, went into the championship round clinging to a 11 ½-point lead over Kelso, and both advanced four into the finals.
After Garcia's win in the 125-pound finale, however, the team race had officially been decided.
Lomsdalen (160) added to the show by securing his third straight state title with a 7-2 decision over Franklin Pierce of Tacoma's Leif Woldseth. Lomsdalen finished his career with a 128-11 overall record.
Enumclaw, Auburn and Auburn Riverside all had banner tournaments. Each advanced three to the finals.
Enumclaw 119-pounder Sam Bauer upset Sedro-Woolley's Shane Hunt on the first day to earn a berth in the semifinals. But Saturday night, he didn't have enough to overcome Auburn's Matt Sencenbaugh, who hung on for a 2-1 decision.
Sencenbaugh set the tone for the Auburn schools, which combined for five individual titles.
Auburn Riverside's Michael Mangrum (140) won his second straight title, then watched as teammate Eric Jones (145) won his first.
"I went out there and took care of business," said Mangrum, who improved to 104-2 in his career and did a pair of backflips and a somersault after the win. "Two backflips because I am a two-timer."
Few were as dominant as Jones, who pinned every opponent at state.
Meanwhile, Auburn went three-for-three in the finals, getting crowns from Sencenbaugh, Jake Swartz (152) and Shane Onufer (171).
Onufer pinned Kelso's Andrew Buck in 4:36 to secure his second straight crown. Like Jones, Onufer pinned his way to the title.
"I just saw blood and took care of it," said Onufer, who finished his prep career with a 134-18 overall record.
Enumclaw's Chase Smith won at 135, outlasting Auburn Riverside's Mitchell Amidon, 11-7.
