Metro League Boys Roundup | Seattle Prep prevails, faces O'Dea today

Seattle Prep's boys basketball team didn't get caught looking ahead.

The Panthers, who play at top-ranked O'Dea today at 3 p.m., used a balanced effort to beat Bishop Blanchet 65-50 on Friday night in a matchup of Metro League Mountain Division teams.

Jack Hanley had 16 points to lead Seattle Prep (8-6, 6-4), and Nico Fearn chipped in 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists. No Panther who played -- nine -- scored fewer than five points.

Jim Froio led the Braves (5-10, 4-7) with 24 points.

Rainier Beach 80,

at Nathan Hale 47

The third-ranked Vikings (8-5, 7-2), led by DeAngelo Jones' 14 points, beat the Raiders (6-8, 1-8) in a Sound Division game to snap their two-game losing streak. Rainier Beach, which plays Cleveland today, had lost to O'Dea and Bainbridge in its previous two games.

At Chief Sealth 84, Ingraham 43

Patrick Lee scored a game-high 21 points, making three three-pointers, as the fourth-ranked Seahawks (11-2, 8-2) beat the Rams (0-14, 0-10) in a Sound Division matchup. Davon Dennis led Ingraham with 16 points.

At O'Dea 81, Eastside Catholic 43

Chris Banchero scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half of the Mountain Division game, when the No. 1 Irish (12-1, 9-0) outscored the Crusaders 52-16. Vince Taylor led Eastside Catholic (6-10, 2-9) with 12 points.

Cleveland 70, at West Seattle 51

The 10th-ranked Eagles (10-3, 7-2) beat the Wildcats (6-8, 3-8) in a Sound Division game behind Hilton Horne's 21 points. Malcolm Love paced West Seattle with 16 points.

Bainbridge 66, at Lakeside 35

Gonzaga-bound Steven Gray scored 22 points and threw down a couple of rim-rattling dunks in the second half as the second-ranked Spartans (12-1, 9-0) rolled in a Mountain Division game. Gray scored 14 points in the first half and finished 8-of-12 shooting. Coby Gibler, a 6-foot-9 senior, added 10 points and 6-10 sophomore Ben Eisenhardt corralled a career-best 11 rebounds for Bainbridge. Matt Ricci led Lakeside (7-7, 3-7) with seven points.
