Prep stars of the week

Katie Grad, Auburn Riverside girls basketball

Grad, a 5-8 junior who already has committed to Washington State, scored a career-high 34 in the second-ranked Ravens' 86-47 SPSL 3A victory over White River. She also had 15 rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Coby Gibler, Bainbridge boys basketball

Gibler, a 6-foot-9 senior, just missed a triple-double while leading the Spartans, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, to a 77-68 overtime victory against No. 4 Chief Sealth. He had 28 points, 18 rebounds and nine blocked shots. He also had a big game in a loss to Franklin, the state's No. 1 4A team, with 19 points, 16 boards and four blocks.

King's boys basketball team

The Class 1A Knights, coached by Marv Morris, rebounded from their lone loss in impressive fashion, knocking off Kentridge 45-40 in the King Holiday Hoopfest. Kentridge was rated No. 6 in Class 4A.
