Girls Basketball Roundup | Jones-led Meadowdale bounces Bainbridge

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND — Eryn Jones won her scoring duel, and her Meadowdale High School girls basketball team won its game against host Bainbridge 54-47 on Thursday night.

Jones, a junior guard, finished with 30 points to better Bainbridge sophomore forward Brittany Gray's 26. Gray also had 12 rebounds for the Spartans (4-2).

Jones made three three-pointers in the first quarter, when the fifth-ranked Mavericks (7-0) outscored the Spartans 18-9.

Kentwood 56,

Sacred Heart (San Francisco) 54

The Conquerors jumped out to a 24-9 lead after the first quarter and held on late to beat Sacred Heart, one of California's highest-ranked teams, in the Cactus Jam in Phoenix. Sophomore guard Lindsey Moore led Kentwood (8-0) with 15 points.

Anacortes 64, Inglemoor 56

The Seahawks jumped to a 25-9 lead after one quarter and held on to beat the Vikings in the Lady Hornet Hoopfest at White River High. Brittany Ganz scored 17 points — all in the first half before leaving with an undisclosed injury — to lead Anacortes (6-0). Rachel Williamson had 13 points for Inglemoor (6-1).

At Rainier Beach 55, Mount Si 41

The Vikings took control in the third quarter after leading by one point at halftime and beat the Wildcats (5-3) despite Madison Yakaboski's game-high 22 points. Tamilka Palmer had 12 points to pace Rainier Beach (6-1).

Woodinville 67, Glencoe (Ore.) 44

In the Interstate Shootout in Lake Oswego, Ore., Amanda Best had 25 points to power the Falcons (2-5).

Mountlake Terrace 54,

at Bishop Blanchet 34

Tatiana Heck had 20 points to lead the Hawks (5-2) to a nonleague win over the Braves (1-6).

At Cleveland 51, Shelton 50

Jacquilina Branch made a free throw — her lone point of the game — with six seconds left to lift the Eagles (2-4) in a nonleague game. Raevenna Rogers led Cleveland with 23 points.

Auburn Mountainview 55,

Seattle Christian 31

In the Another Level Christmas Classic, the Lions (4-4) outscored the host Warriors (5-2) 21-4 in the third quarter after trailing 19-18 at halftime.

Lakeside 68, Port Angeles 36

Alex Moore-Porter had 23 points and Molly Levine dished out six assists to lead the Lions (5-1) past the Roughriders in the Port Townsend Holiday Tournament.
