Top Tickets | A look at this week's big prep football games

Kamiak at Woodinville (4A)

Friday, 7:30 p.m.,

Pop Keeney Stadium (Bothell)

The skinny: Woodinville (6-3), last year's state runner-up, hopes to catch postseason lightning again as KingCo 4A's No. 3 representative. Falcons' D is led by stout LBs Henry Hippely and Justin Mann and DE Ian Lambert. WesCo South No. 2 Knights (8-1) counter with confident O-line and dual RB threat in Bryson Kelly and Justin Glenn (26 TDs total). Quick-starting Woodinville has outscored foes 79-0 in first quarter.

Times pick: Kamiak has a little more offense, 17-14.

Kennedy vs. Skyline (3A)

Friday, 7:30 p.m.,

Highline Stadium (Burien)

The skinny: Two of state's top programs in recent years collide in blockbuster elimination game. Skyline won last year's 4A state title, but lost all but one starter (CB/RB Ryan Edwards) to graduation, and Edwards suffered a season-ending injury. Spartans (7-2) won five straight to salvage KingCo 3A No. 4 seed. Third-ranked Kennedy (9-0), a 3A semifinalist last year, eyes 15th consecutive spot in Sweet 16. RB/DB Nate Williams averages nearly 200 all-purpose yards and has 33 TDs.

Times pick: Barring big mistakes, Kennedy, 28-13.

Sandy Ringer

Graham-Kapowsin at Lake Stevens (4A)

Saturday, 7 p.m.

The skinny: Second-year school G-K (6-3) cracked top three in tough SPSL 4A South. Eagles got athletic QB Austin Burton back from a broken ankle last week. Lake Stevens (7-2), only 5-14 the previous two seasons, features RB Isaac Molstre (1,148 rushing yards, 11 TDs). Vikings have won last five, including upset of No. 9 Oak Harbor.

Times pick: Lake Stevens, 21-18.

Sandy Ringer

Meadowdale vs. Eastside Catholic (3A)

Saturday, 7 p.m., Edmonds Stadium

The skinny: 3A Meadowdale (5-4) has lost only to 4A playoff teams, including No. 2 Edmonds-Woodway and No. 9 Oak Harbor. Mavericks QB Matt Johnson has accounted for 1,621 of team's 2,731 total yards. Eastside Catholic (7-2) lost only to O'Dea and Bainbridge, both on last-minute TDs. QB Alex Vetras and big-play receiver Vince Taylor are Crusaders' top threats.

Times pick: Crusaders hang on this time, 24-21.

John Boyle

Kentwood vs. Oak Harbor (4A)

Saturday, 7 p.m.,

Mount Vernon High School

The skinny: Could be an offensive battle. Kentwood (6-3) junior Demetrius Bronson (1,437 yards) is second-leading rusher among Seattle-area schools. QB Marshall Lobbestael of ninth-ranked Oak Harbor (8-1) has 25 passing TDs. Wildcats lost to Lake Stevens Oct. 13 and survived scares the past two weeks.

Times pick: Too many Oak Harbor weapons; Wildcats, 30-27.

Cory Kellogg

Lincoln at Bothell (4A)

Saturday, 7 p.m.,

Pop Keeney Stadium (Bothell)

The skinny: KingCo 4A champ Bothell (8-1) has hands full with powerful, quick Lincoln RB Roman Pula (1,558 yards, 23 TDs). Disciplined Cougars defense, averaging 7.25 points allowed in last eight games, is anchored by DT Jason Erickson. Bothell WRs Blake Ward and Marc Mulholland — both 6 feet 4 — could come up big against smaller Lincoln DBs. Narrows League Abes (6-3) from Tacoma have big D-line.

Times pick: Bothell moves on, 21-14.
