Information in this article, originally published October 10, was corrected October 11. A previous version of this story contained an error. A photo identified Tuesday as Yonas Berhe, a senior Roosevelt boys cross-country runner who was named High School Star of the Week, was actually his younger brother. Abraham Berhe, a freshman, finished second behind his brother in the Hole in the Wall Invitational in Lakewood on Saturday.

Prep stars of the week

Yonas Berhe, Roosevelt boys cross country

Berhe, a senior, won the 23rd annual Hole in the Wall Invitational at Lakewood High School, taking 16 minutes, 22 seconds to complete the 3.1-mile course. His performance, and the second-place effort of his freshman brother, Abraham, helped the Roughriders earn the team title with 57 points, well ahead of second-place Bothell (90).

Kenna Patrick, Jefferson girls cross country

Patrick, a senior, broke her course record and led the third-ranked Raiders to a 13-point victory over No. 4 Tahoma in a showdown between South Puget Sound League powers. She covered the 3.1-mile course in 18:44.7, cutting nearly eight seconds off her previous best. Jefferson has won 47 consecutive league meets, and ended Tahoma's win streak at 91.

Auburn Riverside boys tennis team

The Ravens, coached by Bruce Diehl, clinched a second consecutive SPSL title, this one in Class 3A, by beating second-place Enumclaw 5-0. That upped their league record to 12-0. Auburn Riverside won the SPSL 4A North crown last year with a 13-0 mark.

Stars of the week are selected by The Seattle Times staff and published Tuesdays, but can be chosen only once each sports season. Nominations may be e-mailed by Sunday night to sports@seattletimes.com with name, school and accomplishments.
