Erika Edwards, a senior at Redmond, has verbally committed to play basketball next year at Sacramento State University.

Edwards, a 6-foot forward, averaged 14.8 points per game last season, when she was named to the KingCo 4A first team.

"She's worked hard for this," said her coach, Pat Bangasser. "With her skills and her work ethic, she should be very successful down there."

Volleyball highlights

Tomeka Evans had 13 kills and Maureen Frauenholtz and Haley Taylor had big nights as Everett (6-2, 2-1) handed Edmonds-Woodway (5-3, 2-1) its first WesCo South defeat in a five-game match.

• Emerald Ridge (10-0, 6-0) stayed perfect in the SPSL South as Kylie Marshall and Jessica Nieblas teamed for 23 kills in a three-game sweep of Curtis.

Diondra Perry had eight blocks and Kelsie Telge nine kills as Inglemoor (7-0, 6-0) cruised past Eastlake in three games in KingCo 4A.

Girls soccer

• Monroe midfielder Taylor Thomas got a hat trick — all in a 6 ½ -minute span of the second half — in a 4-0 WesCo North victory over Marysville-Pilchuck.

Alex Rogers (three goals) and Lindsey Fleishman combined for five goals in Kentridge's 6-0 SPSL North shutout of Auburn Mountainview.

Brittany Orr scored twice and goalkeeper Nikki Mills got a shutout as Beamer handed Emerald Ridge a 4-0 SPSL South defeat.

Bree Rowe scored in each half of Federal Way's 2-0 shutout of Spanaway Lake in the SPSL South.

Lauren Whatley's unassisted goal in the 62nd minute helped Lakeside (8-0-1, 7-0-1) stay unbeaten with a 1-0 Metro victory over Holy Names.

• Eastside Catholic goalkeeper Veronica Cerda got her eighth shutout as the Crusaders (9-1-1, 7-1-1 Metro) beat Bishop Blanchet 1-0.

Sophie Reiser had a hat trick six minutes into the match and added two assists in Nathan Hale's 9-0 Metro League rout of Chief Sealth.

• Senior forward Jamie Coe had a hat trick and an assist, giving her 10 goals and six assists in 10 games, as Cedarcrest (8-1-1, 4-0) hammered Granite Falls 6-0 in the Cascade Conference.

Golf

• Seattle Prep freshman Katrina Hegge and Bainbridge junior Katie Saucier, two of the state's top girls golfers, tied for medalist honors at 3-over par 39 as Bainbridge won a three-team Metro meet at Jackson Golf Course.

Alex Wotherspoon's 1-over par 37 led unbeaten Eastlake (10-0) to a victory over Juanita, clinching the KingCo 4A dual-meet boys championship.
