SPSL girls: Hagen, Rider push Sumner by Kentwood

SUMNER — Adrienne Hagen scored 15 points in a red-hot second quarter and Stephanie Rider posted her eighth straight double-double as Sumner beat Kentwood 58-42 last night in South Puget Sound League girls basketball.

Hagen, a senior guard, finished with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field. Rider, a 5-foot-10 senior, collected 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Spartans (8-1 overall, 4-1 North Division).

Sumner's only loss this season was to Kentlake, 50-36 on Dec. 14.

Courtney Vandersloot scored 12 for the Conquerors (5-3, 2-2), who led 18-10 after one quarter.

Other games

Auburn Riverside 68, at Kentridge 38

The SPSL North-leading Ravens (7-2, 5-0) started the game on a 15-2 run in a romp over the Chargers (3-6, 2-3). Rylee Denbo scored 19 for Auburn Riverside.

At Enumclaw 39, Auburn 32

The Hornets (3-4, 2-2 North) held the Trojans (1-6, 1-4) to only 19 points through three quarters. Lindsey Clyde had 15 points for Enumclaw.

Kentlake 59, at Tahoma 20

The Falcons (6-1, 4-0) took advantage of 30 turnovers by the Bears (2-6, 0-4) in a North Division win. Dee Dee Jackson scored 14 points for Kentlake, which won its fifth straight.

Bethel 64, at Decatur 10

Amanda Durocher's 19 points led the Braves (8-0, 6-0) past the Gators (0-8, 0-6) in the SPSL South.

Spanaway Lake 56, at Puyallup 46

The unbeaten Sentinels trailed 10-7 before outscoring Puyallup 23-11 in the second quarter. Jessica Pendon had 15 points for Spanaway (8-0, 6-0 SPSL South). Danika Lawson had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Vikings (3-5, 3-3).

Federal Way 65, at Emerald Ridge 54

Salena Dickerson hit three three-pointers and scored 13 of her 27 points in the first quarter to launch the Eagles (2-5, 1-5) to their first SPSL South win. Lakia Arceneaux scored 24 for the Jaguars (4-4, 4-2).

Curtis 60, at Beamer 31

Leading only 22-21, Curtis went on a 20-0 run against the Titans (1-7, 0-6 South). Darcy Holland had 20 points for Curtis (7-1, 5-1).

Rogers 44, at Jefferson 40

The Rams (3-5, 3-3) got 18 points from Nicole Derosier in a South Division win over the Raiders (4-4, 2-4).
