Clover Park Warriors

Outlook: Warriors are well stocked at skill positions, but have some questions on both sides of line. With Pritchard under center, Randall expects his offense to score early and often. If line holds up, Warriors could look like the team that upset Lakes late last season and be a contender. If not, Pritchard had better be good throwing on the run.

Outlook: Nevin hopes inexperienced quarterback can help his team improve over last season's last-place finish. The line figures to be a strength of senior-led team. Look for RB Paul Brewer to shoulder much of offensive load.

Outlook: A strong, hard-hitting defense will be expected to take pressure off relatively inexperienced offense. Rodney Williams was second-team all-league selection last year at RB and should account for a healthy chunk of team's offense.

Lakes Lancers

Location: Lakewood

Outlook: Lancers' 45-game regular-season win streak tumbled against Clover Park last year in Miller's first league loss. Even so, Lakes is still favorite to win division, but could face challenges from White River and Clover Park. Erich Williams returns as one of league's top QBs, but will throw to inexperienced group of receivers. On plus side, he will be protected by a line averaging 249 pounds.

Peninsula Seahawks

Location: Gig Harbor

Coach: Ross Filkins (10th year, 44-39)

2003: 2-4 (tied for 4th), 4-5 overall

Returning starters (5 offense, 3 defense): OT Tom Hoghaug, 6-2, 245, Sr.; OG Kyle Gragg, 5-10, 250, Sr.; OT Micah Hannam, 6-5, 270, Jr.; OG Nick Bassett, 6-3, 265, Jr.; WR Scott Cashman, 6-2, 170, So.

Impact newcomer: RB Calvin Williams, 5-9, 160, Jr.

Outlook: One of league's top receivers last year, Cedarland will throw passes this season instead of catching them. Young but experienced offense must put up points as Seahawks return only three starters on defense. Four starters are back on offensive line.

Washington Patriots

Outlook: This is first head-coaching job for Nofo, who played at Mount Tahoma, and later in CFL with B.C. Lions. He spent past three years as assistant at Foss. RB/LB Mike Fuaau is considered one of league's top players and was first-team LB last year. Patriots return a big group of starters, but depth is a concern.

White River Hornets

Location: Buckley

2003: 5-1 (tied for 1st), 9-3 overall (lost to O'Dea 21-6 in first round of state playoffs)

Outlook: Gran is making switch from RB to QB, taking over for his brother Jason, who led last year's team to state playoffs. Hornets are contenders and their Oct. 22 showdown with Lakes could decide division title. Last year, White River tied Lakes for first place.
