Rant & Rave
Rant To "Goldilocks 2009," the people who got in to our Eastern Washington cabin, had a barbecue, played records, then slept in our beds. A rave for putting the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, stripping the bed sheets, putting them in the washing machine, then locking the place up when you left!?
Rave To the couple who found our daughter's 3-pound, 15-year-old toothless dog at 2:30 a.m. after he dug his way under our fence and ran away, looking for our daughter who was in the hospital undergoing heart surgery. They took him home, gave him a bath, wrapped him in a blanket and the next day took him to a vet who had one of our "Lost Dog" fliers and called us. When my husband went to pick up the dog, he was so excited that he forgot to ask these people their name and address so we could thank them properly. So, wonderful couple, if you see this rave for your kindness, please contact the vet. You have no idea what heartache you saved our daughter (and us!) at a very scary time. I used to say I don't believe in miracles, but having this little scrap of a dog returned to us was truly a miracle. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Rant For the mother who brought her three children under the ages of 7 to "Wicked." As two mothers who sat in front of you who rarely get out to enjoy a show, we, and especially your children, were tortured by your selfishness. The kids kicked the backs of our chairs; the youngest, only 3 or 4, complained during the whole show; and the other children kept asking, "Where's Dorothy?" "Where are the little people?" and "When is this going to end?" To all parents: Some shows are not meant for children, and if you take them anyway, please choose a matinee. Better yet, take them to the Children's Theatre.
Rave To Dave, who found the mail stolen from our neighborhood and went to the trouble to return it all to us.
Rant To dog owners who ignore the leash law in public parks, trails and neighborhoods. If you want to let your dog off leash, please go to one of the numerous off-leash parks.
