There are lots of opportunities for dancing in the Puget Sound region. The list that follows is just a sample:

BELLEVUE

Bellevue Senior Center, 4063 148th Ave. N.E., Bellevue, 425-452-7681.

Mondays: Swing dance, 8-10 p.m. $5 per person for Bellevue residents, $6 for others. Introductory swing lesson offered beforehand from 7:30-8 p.m.

Second Tuesday each month: Dance to music of Bellevue Sound of Swing, a 20-piece orchestra, 2-4 p.m., $3 per person.

Thursdays: Ballroom and pattern dancing with three-piece band, 12-2:30 p.m., $3 per person and suggested $1 donation for refreshments.

Quarterly: Evening dance lessons. Next series starts in mid-January. Call for information.

BOTHELL

Northshore Senior Center, 10201 E. Riverside Drive, Bothell, 425-487-2441

Mondays: Beginning basic clogging lessons, 12:30-1:30 p.m., $4.50 for members, $6.50 for nonmembers; next level clogging lessons, 1:30-2:15 p.m., same price; intermediate clogging lessons, 2:15-3 p.m., same price.

Tuesdays Nov. 18-Dec. 16: International folk dancing, 9:30-11 a.m., $12.50 for members, $15.50 for nonmembers. Cost is for all five sessions.

Wednesdays: Ballroom dancing to live music, 1-3 p.m., $2 for members, $3 for nonmembers. Lessons, 3-4 p.m., $7 for members and $12 for nonmembers.

BURIEN

Second Friday every month: Western and swing dancing to Hanky-Panky Dance, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

FEDERAL WAY

Thursdays: Square dancing, 1:30-3 p.m., $3.

KIRKLAND

• Wednesdays: Swing dance lessons, 7:15-8:30 p.m.; West Coast Swing lessons, 8:30-9:45 p.m., Cost for either class: Kirkland residents $50, others $60. Call for information.

LAKE FOREST PARK

Fridays: Tap-dancing lessons, 1-2 p.m., $30 per month for members $35 for nonmembers.

MILTON

Tuesdays: Senior dance with the Milton Senior Center Band, $3 per person includes refreshments, partner not necessary. Line-dancing lessons 6:30-7:30 p.m., $30 for six weeks or $8 per session.

Wednesdays: Ballroom-dance lessons, beginners 6:30 p.m., intermediate 7:30 p.m., about $30 a month.

• Thursdays: Hawaiian dance with Moana (lessons for seniors), 11-noon, $15 for 2-month session, call instructor at 253-859-4844. Country cloggers lessons, intermediate 4-5 p.m., easy intermediate, 5-6 p.m., beginners 6-7 p.m., first three lessons are free, call instructor Anne Mills 253-874-3017.

RENTON

Mondays: Ballroom-dance classes in 10-week sessions. Next session begins Jan. 5. Beginning level, 1:30-2:30 p.m., intermediate 2:30-3:30 p.m., advanced 3:30-4:30 p.m., $18 for Renton residents, $21.75 for non residents. Drop-in TAP-DANCE classes, beginning level 9:30-10:30 a.m., intermediate-advanced 10:30-11:30 a.m., $1.

Tuesdays: Folk dance classes. Next series of classes begins Jan. 6. Beginning level 2:15-3:15 p.m., intermediate 3:15-4:15, $18 for Renton residents; $21.75 for non-residents; Hawaiian dance classes, 10-11 a.m., new series of classes starts in January, $15 for Renton residents, $18 for non-residents.

Wednesdays: Drop-in Square dancing including some instruction, 1:15-3:15 p.m., $2 for Renton residents and $2.50 for non-residents.

REDMOND

Mondays: Line-dancing for people with some experience, 1:30-4 p.m., free

Tuesdays: Tap-dance lessons, intermediate class 10-11 a.m., beginning class 11 a.m.-noon, six-week session fee is $22, next session starts in January; call for information.

Wednesdays: Ballroom-dance lessons, 1-2 p.m., $26 for four-week session. Next session starts Wednesday. No partner needed.

Thursday: Line-dancing lessons, 10-11 a.m., four-week session for $25. Next session starts Nov. 13.

Fridays: Ballroom dancing, 1-3:30 p.m. while Swinging Seniors practice. Official dances with the Swinging Seniors are at the same time on the last Friday of each month, although next two dates are Nov. 21 and Dec. 19 because of the holidays, $3.

Thursday, Dec. 11: Candlelight dinner dance, 5:30-9:30 p.m., $18 per person includes dinner and music by the Swinging Seniors. Semi-formal dress.

SEATTLE
