Travelers winner Kenny Perry sets record

Kenny Perry shot a 7-under-par 63 Sunday to finish with a tournament-record 22-under 258 and win the Travelers Championship by three strokes over Paul Goydos and David Toms.

CROMWELL, Conn. — Kenny Perry shot a 7-under-par 63 Sunday to finish with a tournament-record 22-under 258 and win the Travelers Championship by three strokes over Paul Goydos and David Toms.

Perry, 48, earned $1.08 million for his 14th PGA Tour victory. He has won 11 times since his 40th birthday.

Ryan Moore (64) of Puyallup tied for fourth at 17 under and made $248,000.

Kyle Stanley (66) of Gig Harbor, a former Clemson golfer, tied for 19th at 11 under and earned $75,300 in his pro debut.

Shin triumphs

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Jiyai Shin of South Korea earned her fifth title in 11 months with a seven-stroke victory at the Wegmans LPGA.

Shin shot a 1-under 71 to finish at 17-under 271 and earned $300,000.

Kristy McPherson and Yani Tseng had 66s to tie for second.

Wendy Ward (74), who lives near Edwall, outside Spokane, tied for 24th at 4 under. Jimin Kang (74), a graduate of King's High School in Shoreline, tied for 53rd at 4 over.

Other tournaments

Lonnie Nielsen had a 9-under 63 in Endicott, N.Y., to win the Dick's Sporting Goods Open on the Champions Tour. Nielsen, who turns 56 today, finished at 21-under 195 to beat Fred Funk (69) and Ronnie Black (66) by three shots. Nielsen earned $247,500.

Tom Gillis (final-round 70, 15-under 273 total) won the Nationwide Tour Players Cup in Bridgeport, W.Va. Michael Putnam of University Place and Jeff Gove of Seattle tied for seventh.

Nick Dougherty of England shot an 8-under 64 to win the BMW International by one shot over Argentine Rafa Echenique (62) in Munich, Germany. Dougherty had a 22-under 266 total.
