The three standard complaints about golf are that it is too difficult, takes too much time and is too expensive. Here's a list of nine bargains to help address the third complaint.

Avalon Golf Club, Burlington
Free golf on your birthday (must show ID).

Carnation
After 5 p.m. in May and 6 p.m. in summer months, juniors (16 and under) play free with adult who plays twilight rate of $22, plus tax. Rate is in effect seven days a week.

Holmes Harbor Golf Club, Whidbey Island
All the golf you want to play on Tuesdays on par-64 course for $25 (including tax) with cart.

Lake Spanaway Golf Course,Tacoma

The twilight rate for juniors (12 and under), seniors (62) and college students (show college ID) is $15 (including tax) Monday through Friday. Twilight is 4 p.m. in May, and 5 p.m. in June and July.

For $20 (including tax), seniors (60) get a cart and 18 holes Monday-Friday.

Tall Chief, Fall City
Greens fees $14 (including tax) for unlimited golf on the 12-hole course Monday through Friday. Rate is $12 for seniors (60 and over) and juniors (15 and under).

Tyee Golf Course, Seatac
Monday-Thursday greens fees $15 (includes tax).

Wayne Golf Course, Bothell
Monday and Wednesday morning tee times until noon, 18 holes, $12 plus tax.

Wellington Hills Golf Course, Woodinville
"No Frills, Wellington Hills," is nine-hole course where standard greens fee is $10.75 (including tax) weekdays for nine holes and $11.75 weekends. A second trip around the course is $6.75.
