Extension of the Boeing Classic, the annual PGA Champions Tour stop in August at the TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge, is expected to be announced Monday.

Tournament chairman Chuck Nelson said the news conference Monday in Seattle would deliver "good news" but declined to be specific.

Boeing's original four-year sponsorship agreement ends with this year's tournament, scheduled for Aug. 22-24.

Announced attendance for the full week of tournament activities, including the NFL Rumble at the Ridge and the Wells Fargo Pro-Am, has been more than 50,000 each of the past two years.

Last year's tournament ended in a seven-man playoff, which was the biggest playoff in the history of the PGA, Champions or Nationwide tours. Denis Watson won with an eagle on the second extra hole, the par-5 18th. Tom Watson won in 2006 and David Eger in 2005.

"We're looking forward to Monday," Nelson said. "We're thrilled with the first three years of the tournament and feel it has been established as a major-league and first-class event on the Seattle sports calendar."
