Bama-Tinis and Clin-Tinis; A Kirkland wedding on the Food Network
Girl About Town roundup: A Kirkland wedding on the Food Network's "Dinner: Impossible"; Democratic-nomination martinis at Tini Bigs; a Stone Gossard glassybaby.

There was plenty of drama in celebrity chef Robert Irvine's kitchen when he presided over a wedding banquet at the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland in January. Naturally, Food Network's film crews were there to capture it for "Dinner: Impossible." But as it turned out, the real drama happened off-camera the next month when the chef was caught fabricating parts of his résumé by a Florida newspaper. Which is all very delicious, because reality television is nothing without a great scandal.
Irvine was let go by the network, but the show will go on for the remainder of the season, including Wednesday's episode featuring the local wedding of Kim Miyake and Shawn Zook.
"I'll be seeing it for the first time with everybody else, which makes me anxious," says wedding coordinator Kelley Moore. "[Irvine] and I both have really strong personalities and strong ideas. There are definitely going to be moments where sparks fly in that kitchen." ...
WHEN IT COMES TO choosing the Democratic presidential nominee, your guess is as good as ... a martini. Tini Bigs is keeping an unofficial cocktail poll, with patrons casting "votes" by ordering Bama-Tinis and Clin-Tinis. "We're going to keep it up until the nominee is picked," says general manager Patrick Haight. "We're getting some longevity from [the Pennsylvania primary] results. I'm thrilled with the results — the fact that there are no results." As of yesterday, the count was Obama: 71, Clinton: 64. ...
PEARL JAM GUITARIST Stone Gossard helped design a limited-edition glassybaby to support the Northwest Chapter of the Huntington's disease Society of America, whose president happens to be his wife, Liz Weber. The glassybaby is custom-colored to look like a distant sun coming up over the horizon of the Arctic — an icy blue/gray with a splash of orange — and will be available exclusively at the second annual Thaw Spring Fashion Show benefiting HDSA in Sodo on Thursday. ...
THE SEATTLE OPERA GALA'S "Springtime Serenade" at McCaw Hall was home to the 10-pound swag bag, chock-full of soy candles, gift certificates, flower and vegetable seeds, cocktail recipes, opera CDs and even a blanket. Turns out there is, in fact, a person assigned the title of "Swag Bag Chair." Who knew? In the spirit of the evening, each table setting featured a "blooming aria" — a line of opera printed onto card stock and pinned into a live fuchsia carnation. ...
CELEBRITY SIGHTINGS ROUNDUP: Musician Jack White eating in a booth at Sazerac with members of his side band, the Raconteurs, all wearing matching hats ... Bill Gates, Paul Allen and other founding members of Microsoft dining at the Met and sharing stories about the early days of the company.
