Washington Brewers Festival is 3 days of suds in Kenmore
Washington Brewers Festival is June 18-20 in Kenmore.
Washington Brewers Festival
Get a peek at the new local beers rolling out this summer at the three-day Washington Brewers Festival in Kenmore, starting Friday.
Expect lots of light and fruity beers and lots of blonde ales and pilsners among the 200 beers on tap. But this is still Washington state — we like our beers hoppy, strong and bitter, despite what the warmer weather dictates. So you can still expect lots of India Pale Ales, too.
Beer floats will also be served.
Some newer breweries will be on hand: Odin Brewing Company of Seattle, 192 Brewing Company of Kenmore, Foggy Noggin Brewing in Bothell and Airways Brewing Company in Kent.
Live music, contests and games and a children's play area that includes a root-beer tent will be set up.
Saint Edward State Park, 14445 Juanita Drive N.E., Kenmore; 4-9 p.m. Friday, free parking on site (admission is $15, includes cup and four tastes, 21-and-older only), all ages admitted 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, $25 per day (includes cup and six tastes). It's $15 to park on-site Saturday and Sunday, though there's a free shuttle from nearby parking lots (206-787-1989 or www.washingtonbeer.com)
