Raise a mug of your favorite brew or chug something new this weekend at Fremont Oktoberfest, where 70 Northwest microbrews will be on tap.

The festival's beer garden is restricted to the 21-and-over set, but the family section, Fremontopia, is free and open to all ages, with music stages, a carnival and root-beer tastings.

The event includes two happy hours, 5-6 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. Designated drivers receive discounted admission and free soft drinks.

The festival runs 5 p.m.-midnight Friday, 11 a.m.-midnight Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday on Solstice Plaza in central Fremont, near the corner of North 34th Street and Fremont Avenue. Admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door and includes a souvenir cup and five beer tokens.

Find more information at www.fremontoktoberfest.com or call 206-633-0422.
