Wednesday, August 16, 2006 - Page updated at 12:00 AM Recipe: Peanut Dipping SauceMakes ˝ cup - 2 teaspoons canola oil - 3 cloves garlic, minced - 1 ˝ teaspoons red pepper flakes - ˝ cup hoisin sauce - 3 tablespoons chunky peanut butter - ˝ cup water - Juice of 2 limes 1. In a small sauté pan, heat the oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute, or until lightly golden brown. Add pepper flakes and stir sauce for a few seconds. 2. Stir in the hoisin sauce, peanut butter and water and reduce heat to medium-low so the sauce simmers gently. Add lime juice and simmer, stirring, 3 to 4 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Let sauce cool to room temperature. Refrigerate up to 1 week.
