Cooking is a labor of love, especially at holiday time. But pre-cooked, ready-to-reheat holiday dinners provide a welcome option that lessens some of that labor with no love lost.

Many area markets, restaurants, caterers and specialty food shops are prepared to do the holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas and, in some cases, New Year's) cooking for you. Order just the turkey or a few sides, a single serving or a feast for 12 — but do place your order early; supplies are limited in many cases.

Remember to allow sufficient time to reheat the food, and if you are picking up the day before, make sure you have enough refrigerator space to store everything.
