Nosebleed section

After many years of trying, I finally got to see Joe Cocker at the Moore. His show was great; my complaint is with Ticketmaster. I went to its Web site to purchase a ticket. Having never been to the Moore, I let the computer pick the "best" ticket for me. I did two searches and both times a floor ticket came up over the balcony seat I had considered. Instead of the third row lower balcony, I ended up in the farthest seat on the left in row 20. I guess the Ticketmaster computer is set up to choose the best seat for Ticketmaster, not the best for the customer.

Down in front?

This is a rant for the grumpy man at the recent bluegrass concert in Lake Forest Park's Town Center. The concert was billed as "family-style," but you grumped about the little kids dancing in front of the stage. Your harsh words hurt my son's feelings, and you didn't even have the courtesy to say "Thank you" when my boys stopped so quickly. They were having a delightful time. I wish you could have used kind words or simply let them have their fun.

Awesome exploration

A huge shout-out to the Pacific Science Center and the IMAX theater group. I took my two daughters (ages 7 and 3) to IMAX's "Mystery of the Nile." After the show, the expedition leader, Pasquale Scaturro, fielded questions from the audience. My 3-year-old raised her hand, and Pasquale called on her. In addition, he autographed his book and also posed for pictures with my daughters. To see these two girls get to interact with a modern-day explorer was beyond cool. My 7-year-old's word of the day was "awesome!" Who knows what future explorations were spawned because Pasquale took the time to engage some very young fans.
