Community events: a resources and services fair, a romance writers book fair and a harvest festival

Community resources and services fair

Need help surviving the current economic crisis? A free community-resources and services fair is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today at Third Place Commons in Lake Forest Park. The fair will feature information on health, nutrition and finances, along with workshops on budgeting, saving energy and obtaining mortgage assistance. Book fair: Romance is brewing in Bellevue as the Greater Seattle Romance Writers of America host a book fair today as part of their weekend-long conference. More than 50 best-selling and award-winning romance writers will be on hand for book signings. Authors in attendance will include Cherry Adair, Robert Dugoni and Jane Porter. The book fair runs from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Bellevue Hilton, 300 112th Ave. S.E., Bellevue; free (www.gsrwa.org).

Harvest Festival: Celebrate fall and harvest season at the Imagine Children's Museum in Everett from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. today. Games, experiments, vegetable art and more are in store. Winners of the festival's "Kids in the Garden" pumpkin, squash and sunflower growing contest will be chosen. The festival is included with museum admission of $7.50 (425-258-1006 or www.imaginecm.org).
