Seattle, get your pride on.
This weekend's Pride festivities, part of a monthlong celebration of the gay and lesbian community, begin Saturday with the 8 a.m. Dignity/Seattle Pride Week breakfast at Central Lutheran Church, 1710 11th Ave. Then there's the Capitol Hill Pride Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Broadway between East John and Harrison streets. This year's festival commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York's Greenwich Village, largely considered the genesis of the gay-rights movement.
Sunday's Pride Parade, which begins at 11 a.m. on Fourth Avenue and Union Street and marches to Denny Way, celebrates the history and culture of the city's gay and lesbian community.
Weekend celebrations wrap up with PrideFest at Seattle Center, which runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with food, vendors and nonprofit activism.
The breakfast costs $7; all other events are free to attend.
