More Golden Globes fashion: Gowns that ranked (and tanked) on the red carpet
Golden Globes fashion: Hits and misses on the red carpet.

Here are the glories and the horrors of the red carpet:
The best
Olivia Wilde: The actress plays No. 13 on the medical drama "House," but she scored a 10 with this light pink floor-length confection. Tiers of chiffon ruffles meet a woven bodice with a sweetheart neckline, topped off with a skinny bejeweled belt.
Eva Longoria Parker: Rumors have persisted for months that the wife on NBA point guard Tony Parker is pregnant but the "Desperate Housewives" star quashed those rumors with a form-fitting, mermaid-style gown with a chapel-length train.
Kate Winslet: Any gal looking for fashion inspiration should look no further than Best Actress winner Winslet, whose choice of a simple black strapless gown with a velvet belt was the classiest gown of the evening.
Isla Fisher: In the upcoming "Confessions of a Shopaholic," Fisher plays a couture-obsessed financial journalist. Her choice of a skin-tone gown, featuring an asymmetrical neckline and criss-crossing chiffon patterns is definitely a gown worth maxing out a credit card.
Christina Applegate: Her sunny personality wasn't her only asset on display. The actress, who recently battled breast cancer, wore a butter-yellow floor length gown with a fitted corset top.
The worst
Mary Hart: The television personality might as well have been auditioning for a role in "27 Dresses 2" when she donned this bad bridesmaid dress, featuring a tiered full skirt and floral applique. But at least she can shorten it and wear it again.
Renée Zellweger:She's known for sporting some of the most elegant fashions on the red carpet, but her stylist must have taken the weekend off. Zellwegger paired a sheer black peasant blouse with a full mermaid skirt and topped it off with an overly coiffed hairdo. "Bride of Frankenstein," anyone?
Maggie Gyllenhaal: Gyllenhaal's gown combined all the elements of a bad dress — odd-color animal print, oversized shoulder embellishment and exposed zippers. Her shoes, reminiscent of bedroom slippers, didn't help the ensemble.
Marisa Tomei: Tomei must have raided her grandmother's closet to come up with her ensemble. A sheer peasant blouse, a wide lace belt and a black pencil-skirt were paired with strands of long necklaces to help age the actress nearly 40 years.

Jessica Capshaw: Her chose of a fuchsia minidress by Prada was inappropriate, even for a more laidback awards show like the Golden Globes. Her chose of gray pointed heels was even worse. What did she think this was? "The MTV Movie Awards"?
The trends
Black is back: Celebrities and fashionistas have strayed away from the standby color in recent award seasons, often choosing pretty pastels or electric jewel-tones. But the LBD (long black dress) is back, thanks to gowns worn by Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Kate Winslet and Amy Adams.
Jeweled belts: Miss Golden Globe Rumer Willis, daughter of actors Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, was just one of many celebrities who chose to accent their gowns with skinny belts adorned with jewels.
Diamond-alternatives:You don't need loads of bling to stand out on the red carpet. Take Eva Mendez, who wore a turquoise collar necklace to add a punch of color to her bright white gown.
Skinny ties: Forget the bowtie, guys. Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Arnett, Jeremy Piven and other leading men ditched the traditional tie in favor of skinny black ties to accessorize their tuxedos.
Big hair: No, not for the ladies. Robert Downey, Jr., Brad Pitt and other men styled their 'dos to hair-raising heights.
