Meet the man who inspired "Remember the Titans" as part of Everett's MLK celebration
Everett's "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration" includes a screening of the Denzel Washington film "Remember the Titans" Sunday, Jan. 11, and events Tuesday, Jan. 13, featuring the man who inspired the film, Herman Boone.
You can meet Herman Boone, the man who inspired the Denzel Washington film "Remember the Titans," as part of Everett's "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration" Tuesday.
There is a screening of the film at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
Boone, who coached the football team at a newly integrated high school in Virginia in the 1970s, will make an appearance at a breakfast at 7 a.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn, 3105 Pine St., Everett. The breakfast will be followed by a rally and march at 10:30 a.m. at Snohomish County Plaza, 3000 Wall St. And Boone is the guest speaker at noon at the official celebration at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave.
