Prince still waiting at 60

Britain's Prince Charles, the longest-waiting heir in British history, turns 60 today. Queen Elizabeth II hosted a birthday party for her son Thursday at Buckingham Palace. Charles' wife, Camilla, was throwing a more private bash on Saturday at the prince's rural estate, complete with a performance by sexagenarian rocker Rod Stewart. The queen, 82, has indicated informally that she plans to keep her job for life. Her mother died at 101. Britain's next-longest monarch-in-waiting was Queen Victoria's eldest son, who became King Edward VII in 1901, aged just over 59 years and 2 months.

"Man" is expecting again

Leave it to Barbara Walters to ferret out the real news. Walters, talking on "The View" about her TV special "What Is a Man, What Is a Woman?" revealed Thursday that "pregnant man" Thomas Beatie, of Bend, Ore., is expecting again. He's in his first trimester and told Walters that after his daughter Susan's birth in July, he purposely did not "resume taking testosterone ... so he could have another baby," the People magazine Web site reports. The baby is due in June.

O'Neal cases delayed

Ryan O'Neal, 67, and his son Redmond, 23, have delayed entering pleas in their felony drug cases until after the new year. The Oscar-nominated actor and his son appeared in court in Malibu, Calif., on Thursday, and attorneys asked a judge for more time to review evidence. The actor and his son were ordered to return Jan. 9. Ryan Redmond, 23, is O'Neal's son from a relationship with Farrah Fawcett.

Bullock stalker sentenced

Marcia Valentine, 47, has been placed on three years of probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of stalking actress Sandra Bullock. A felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon was dropped against Valentine after she entered her guilty plea to stalking Nov. 5, according to the Orange County, Calif., Superior Court Web site. Bullock obtained a restraining order in May 2007 barring Valentine from contacting her or coming near her home, family or work for three years.

Burned by his loot

Police in Memphis, Tenn., figured something wasn't right when they saw a man wheeling a water heater down a street on a dolly. When officers stopped to talk to Kenneth Bolden, 52, he took off running. The Commercial Appeal reported that police caught him, put him in the squad car and drove around the neighborhood asking him to identify the source of the heater. Police said Bolden finally pointed out a house and said, "That's the one." Police found the back door kicked in and a spot where a water heater had been ripped out. Bolden was being held.

Insert gator joke here

A man arrived at Johnny's Saloon in Orange County, Calif., early Saturday with his 3-foot pet alligator on a leash. By the time police and animal-control officers arrived, the gator was in the man's vehicle in the parking lot. Officers followed him home, where another alligator was found, animal-control spokesman Ryan Drabek said. Both alligators were impounded and were being held pending an investigation by the Department of Fish and Game, Drabek said. The man was not identified.
