A weekly listing of new DVDs.
Here are some of today's DVD releases. Star ratings are by Seattle Times movie reviewers, freelancers or wire services (for full reviews, go to www.seattletimes.com/movies).
"Batman Begins" (PG-13). Catch up on Christopher Nolan's 2005 superhero tale starring Christian Bale before "The Dark Knight" sequel hits theaters July 18.
"Stop-Loss" (R). Kimberly Peirce's war drama enlists a troupe of fine young actors, including Ryan Phillippe as a soldier who is told he must return to Iraq.
"Superhero Movie" (PG-13). Drake Bell plays a teen who's bitten by a mutant dragonfly in Craig Mazin's spoof.
"The Ruins" (R). A group of tourists (Jonathan Tucker, Jena Malone, Shawn Ashmore, Laura Ramsey) find terror among Mayan ruins in Carter Smith's fright flick.
TV on DVD
"The X-Files: Revelations": With "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" due in theaters July 25, director Chris Carter picks eight episodes and explains how each relates to the new flick.
