Lost Beatles interview
In a lost 1964 interview with the Beatles' John Lennon and Paul McCartney, broadcast Monday on BBC Radio after it was salvaged from the audio track of a damaged roll of film, McCartney expounds on the duo's song-writing process. "Normally, we sit down and try and bash one out," he said. "But then again, there's no formula, because [Lennon] can come up with one completely finished. We still say we both wrote it, though."
Jolie hospitalized
Brangelina's twins aren't here yet, but the big day is drawing closer. The seafront Lenval hospital in Nice, France, said Tuesday that Angelina Jolie had checked in at its maternity clinic to be kept under doctors' surveillance and get some rest before she gives birth. "She is not on the verge of giving birth, not at all," said Nadine Bauer, a hospital spokeswoman. The 33-year-old actress will likely remain in the hospital until she gives birth, Bauer said. Jolie has said the babies are due in August, but twins are often born early. She and her partner, Brad Pitt, have four children: Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2.

Hungry for sport
German police Monday said a 6 ½-foot-long catfish apparently choked to death after trying to chow down a soccer ball in the locks of a Bavarian canal. Police weren't sure if the final of the Euro 2008 soccer championship on Sunday — during which Germany lost 1-0 to Spain — had anything to do with the fish's demise.
In Court
Sausage attack
Gregory Allen Praeger, 46, was charged with battery after he hit his mother in the head with a 3-pound package of Polish sausage Friday, Deland, Fla., police said. His mother told police he had been drinking and arguing with her, then picked up the package of sausage and hurled it, grazing her head. She was not badly hurt. He was held on $500 bond, according to jail records.
